On the news this morning I saw that Target’s sales were down 41%. This reminded me that I hadn’t paid for the batteries yet. Their loss was partly my fault!!!

Talking to myself again….
Are you trying to build a “Copy Cat” church? As far as I know the words “Copy Cat” are almost always used in a negative sense. My kids frequently say to each other, “Don’t copy me” or I’ll hear “Daddy, Daniel is copying me.” They can’t stand it! How does God feel about it? I can’t find a scripture in the Bible that suggest that any two churches must look exactly the same. Nor can I find a certain style of music, schedule, building, stage props, cool lighting, etc. Two many young leaders are trying to copy the steps of other successful pastors and church planters and often miss the exit God tried to take them. There is more consulting of other leaders than consulting God. I’m not saying you shouldn’t seek counsel and ask questions and learn from others-because you should. However, more often you should seek the leadership of the Holy Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit has always produced the greatest results in ministry. Make sure the HG is the one leading you to do what you are doing. Stay in touch with the right source of blessing and power!

Wow! It has been a long time since I’ve posted anything. Here’s why…
I got bored with blogging.
I got tired of most of the bloggers I kept up with making comments like, “I read this new book today… you’ve got to read it and implment this or that into your ministry and you will have success.”
I have been extremely busy. I have some new Bible studies that I have started…
My wife has been pregnant… (we now have a new baby girl named Emma)
Oh, deer season opened…
RANDOM QUESTIONS TO MYSELF…
What are you doing as a leader/pastor? What is your motive? Are people’s lives being changed in a way that pleases God? Are you building something that will last? What pattern or plan are you using? Is God pushing the boat with His wind or are you trying to paddle the boat in another direction? When all is said and done, what will your life have accomplished pertaining to the purpose God has called you to? Do you simply include the Word of God in your life, or does it drive your life? Who cares what other people think, what does God think about your life and ministry? If you knew for a fact that you were not in the will of God, would you be willing to change directions, plans, methods, ideas, etc.?

Hello friends and fence jumpers (inside joke)…
Just wanted to give an update on Margarita´s mom. We left in a hurry last Saturday after we got a call that they had just rushed her into surgery. We arrived Sunday to find her doing as good as she could be after having 10 inches of her intestines removed. We found out today that there is no cancer! Praise the Lord! She had a colostmy so things will be very different for her over the next four months. She may get to come home on Friday, but we aren´t sure yet. We are going to be leaving Friday to head back home. Pray for her and us as we travel.
It has been raining every day making new records for Chihuahua. Every thing is very green and pretty because of the rain. The trip down wasn´t so bad for the same reason. Hopefully it will atleast SEEM quick on the way back (18 hours)! I got to take Daniel to the circus last night… It was awesome! Old style in a tent up close and personal, tigers, zebras, elephants, clowns, 3 motor cycles in a cage, and much more… We loved it! The food in Chihuahua is amazing too! Adios amigos!!!
The following statement is true of almost every church, “It’s impossible to get everone there at the same time.” For this reason we are starting a new minsitry called, “The 12 Tribes Ministry.” There will be twelve leaders over each tribe. These twelve will keep a list of their tribe and fill out a “missing in action” form for each one (member or guest) who is out on a particular day. They will drop the form in the “missing in action” box and the “missing in action squad” team will meet each Tuesday morning to makes calls and write letters to those who were out. They will also spend time in prayer for the many needs of those missing in action.
You are welcome to use this idea free of charge my friends! If you do let me know how it works. This will work best along side of a good solid outreach ministry!

We had another shouting kind of day at Temple today. I baptized 5, including the mother of some kids that were saved at Bible School. I will tell you a story about her teenage daughter Sabrina below. We also had a teenage boy saved whom we’ve been praying for and working with for some time. Also, tonight one of the parents who came for the baptismal service got a little preachin and had a change in attitude when he got born again! Amen! I couldn’t believe what the Holy Ghost led me to say, “Some off you like to inject drugs in your body and that’s ok if you like destruction, but let me tell you about another kind of injection!” Get my drift? Amen again! A little imputed righteousness! Are you as excited as I am?
Here’s the deal: “Preach the Word!” Stop trying to be culturally relevant, stop telling all the stories, and just preach the Word! Don’t do it in boring way, do it in a Holy Ghost powerful kind of way! Make follow-up visits, be real and loving, be straight with people, and God will build the church!
Sabrina got saved and baptized last week. She started school as a saved person this year! She starting talking to one of her friends about Jesus on the first day… She took her Bible the second day, showed her how to be saved, and then the girl responded and said, “Ok, I’ll get saved at home tonight.” Sabrina said, “Oh No! You don’t know if you will make it home tonight.” The girl bowed her head at School and had her name written down in the lambs book of life!!! Praise Jesus!
I stole this quote from Jeff Turpin’s blog…
“You guys are all into that born again thing, which is great. We do need to be born again, since Jesus said that to a guy named Nicodemus. But if you tell me I have to be born again to enter the Kingdom of God, I can tell you that you have to sell everything you have and give it to the poor, because Jesus said that to a guy too… But I guess that’s why God invented highlighters, so we can highlight the parts we like and ignore the rest.” – Rich Mullins
MY RESPONSE:
I just want to point out one of the reasons the KJV is the best! In relation to the first quote. Ye and you is always plural and thee, thou, and thine, is always singular in the KJV.
Jesus did not say Nicodemus alone must be born again, but “Ye” meaning everyone must be born again.
To the rich young ruler he said, if “thou” be perfect… The man was trying to enter into heaven based on keeping the law so Jesus said ok you are a good moral person, what about God, whose your god? What about the other 4 commandments??? “Thou” means he is not saying everyone must sell everything they have to enter the kingdom of God.
“Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” John 3:7
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. Mt 19:21
Monday and Tuesday I have been dealing with a major problem with an individual in the church-I ask for your prayers.
Wednesday morning I started off the day having breakfast with Roger who hasn’t been to church in 2 weeks as a result of breaking up with his girlfriend who is also a member. Pray for Roger!
When I left breakfast I headed to the church to met Joseph Morton who was going to be measuring our older education building for flooring. We got to talking and I got to preaching and about an hour later he was on his knees in the entrance of the building asking Jesus to forgive him and save him! Amen!!!
In the afternoon I went back to dealing with the problem, although Satan must see that God is going to keep getting the victory. Go God!
In the evening I baptized 4 and have at least 5 others who committed to being baptized on Sunday (unless someone backs out). Some did back out yesterday so please pray for these too! “God knows what He is doing” has always been my moto.

We had good services yesterday! As usual we had new visitors. In the afternoon I met with several of the parents and students who were saved during Bible school. We will start baptizing on Wednesday night! We start hitting the homes of “Boot Camp” soilders this evening!
We are looking for a decent deal on a second van. Last night we started making plans to build a multi-purpose building. We have a good start in our building fund with no debt and we plan on paying cash for the building when we build it! Sacrifice and fundraising begins now!
