I am at Harding University using free internet access on an Apple! The reason I am here is because Margarita got a job with ARAMARK working in the food court. She works on campus. This is the reason I have been playing Mr. Mom. This is a tough job as a pastor. Daniel is usually in school, but has been sick all week. I have maintained the house and washed ALL the dishes this week. Thank God Aline is going to watch Anna a few days during the week until she starts preschool.
Don’t get me wrong, I love spending this extra time with my kids. But I can’t get anything else done. I can’t think!!! A major part of my job is thinking. The Lord continues to teach me new things about life.
A few headlines:
1. We kicked up FBI (Faith Bible Institute) on Monday and we have 21 students of all ages enrolled.
2. Church is great with unity, spiritual growth, and lots of new visitors.
3. CHANGE (our new student ministry) is happening this Friday night. Please pray for several to be saved, lives to be changed through surrender to JESUS.
BTW- If you want to do some serious Bible study start Faith Bible Institute at your church. This has been a blessing every where I have served. This is one of the best ways to train leaders in the scriptures. This ministry is for pastors and church members alike. www.faithbibleinstitute.com

Check out Daniel at his last photo shoot here.
The following is my introduction to this evening’s study in the book of I John. We have been studying I John since October.
Real Life and Love – How are they connected? Part 1
Text: I John 4:7-5:5
Intro: The word “love” has been used 14 times up to chapter 4. In today’s study the word love is used an additional 30 times (a total of 44 times in a letter with 5 chapters). John’s writings declare that love is THE SIGN of a true believer in Christ. We are to love God and love others.
· The study of love is life changing since the Bibles tells us that God doesn’t just give love, but HE IS LOVE. When a person comes to know God, he/she comes to know LOVE!
· Every human being needs LOVE. I believe it is safe to say that we need LOVE more than anything else available to us. Therefore not only do we need it ourselves-we must give it to others.
· What would life be like if you had no awareness that someone loved you?

- I’ve had a few blahhhh mornings lately.
- Our church passed through a difficult valley of spiritual growth, but/and things seem to be sweeter now!
- At this moment unity seems to be at its highest level since I have been pastoring TBC.
- On Sunday we had a great crowd and I preached one of the toughest messages I have ever preached. God blessed His Word!
- I preached without notes again on Sunday. I do this periodically just because. I have observed that when I preach without notes I preach longer (this does not mean I chased any rabbits). My notes seem to hold me to a time limit.
- I love what I am seeing in the lives of our new believers! Mark called me this evening and thanked me for telling him about Jesus.
- Next Monday we kick off Faith Bible Institute. We have 17 students enrolled.
- Next Friday (January 25th) we will begin a new student ministry called “CHANGE”. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do!
- Daniel and Anna are growing fast! Daniel’s teacher told me that he never gets in trouble. I think his early spankings are paying off. He hasn’t had one in a little while!
- Margarita and I just celebrated our 5th Anniversary on the 8 of January. Our relationship gets better and better!
- I have taken up coon hunting again. I have 4 dogs after saying that I wasn’t going to get back into it. I had to build a new dog pen. Hunting is a great stress reliever!
- I have been keeping track of the debates and am very concerned about this upcoming presidential election.

In today’s Christian society there is a phrase used frequently, “secondary issues“.
Secondary issues seem to be defined as Biblical teachings of lessor importance.
While there are definitely some areas in Scripture that leave room for disagreement, a New Testament command should never be considered a secondary issue.
I’ve been teaching Daniel and Anna what sin is. I am teaching them that sin is- DISOBEYING GOD. Anytime we disobey a command from the infallible Word of God (The Bible) we have sinned against God. All sin hinders our relationship with God and our ability to perform our roles or be the people that God has called us to be.

Every day I face new decisions and sometimes trials that are tough, BUT God helps me wade through each one. I’m glad I don’t have to run this race alone aren’t you? From the very beginning when God called me, it was based on the condition that He would be with me, and I must say He has been faithful all the way! Can you imagine what ministry would be like if Jesus had left us alone? Some pretend or are confused and portray some kind of an infinite knowledge and wisdom-NOT ME. I am what I am, who I am, and where I am because of Jesus! When He said the following he was talking to me and you.
“I’ll be with you always, even to the end of the age” – Jesus (Ma. 28:20)

I am always thinking of ways to address unbiblical positions…
“they are weak but He is strong” (Jesus Loves the Little Children) – Great children’s song!
I understand the reason so many people hold a position that is opposite of eternal security. Their focus is on weak man instead of a STRONG GOD! Man is weak and falls into sin, but God is strong and keeps those who are His.
“And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of mine hand.” John 10:29 (GB)
Because we are weak man, we can’t even pluck ourselves out!
