A Lot But Not Really

Have you ever been in the place where it seemed like you had a lot going on (and you did), but it didn’t feel like a lot because you were enjoying every minute of it? Well, that’s where I am right now. Family, Church & Activities, Faith Bible Institute, enjoying life (hunting) etc… it’s GREAT!

Having a good balance is the key. I have had several older pastors tell me in the past 10 years they wished they would have stopped and smelled the roses a little more often. Others have told me to, “keep those kids close”. Amen! Listening to wise counsel is good!

There is nothing better than walking through life with Jesus. Being led by the Spirit of God eqauls better decisions, joy, and satisfaction. Life isn’t perfect, but with God’s grace and the presence of Jesus it is the BEST!Jesus said,

” I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9

Nothing To Write About

Lately I’ve been consumed and haven’t written much on my blog. Now that I have a little time I really don’t have anything to say. I’m sure if I really wanted to I could think of something good or bad to say. Sometimes I say too much. I’m speechless!

How about a verse:

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.  James 3:5-10

If you google, ‘Pathway Baptist Fayetteville, AR’ their church website comes up and then about 4 results down is a blog entry I wrote several months ago.

I saw Jeremy Flanagan, pastor of Pathway, last night at the AYC dinner and he shared a story of a family that attended their church a couple of weeks ago. The guy read my blog for about 30 minutes and said if there are people like this praying for Pathway Baptist this is the kind of church I want to be a part of. They were going to be visiting a couple of other churches and to be back this Sunday. WOW! This blew me away. God uses lots of methods and individuals to accomplish His work, let’s all work together!

I think my early prediction will come to pass, but I’m not 100% sure. I am not a prophet, but I believe MCCAIN wins the GOP nominee and runs with Huckabee as vice to carry the South!

God’s Grace

Every day God shares his grace with me. The only reason I’m still here is because of the grace of God. As a husband, father, son, brother, and pastor I’m thankful for GRACE. God’s grace is more than a religious fairy tale!

What would life be like without grace? When we wake up in the morning would there be light? When we mess up or sin what would the outcome be? With all the demands of life and ministry how could we remain standing? How could we continue on without grace?

Without grace not one of the individuals named would be mentioned in the Hall of Faith (Hebrews 11). They were mere humans with a sin nature tracing back to Adam. It was grace that enacted their faith! Not only does God give us grace, but he also gives us faith. He has given us grace that is sufficient for all our needs and faith to accept his marvelous grace.

“Grace, Grace God’s Grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin…” – sing that and think about how good God really is!

”Grace be with you all.” Hebrews 13:25

John 1:14, Romans 11:6, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Titus 2:11, Hebrews 4:16, James 4:6, I Peter 4:10,  2 Peter 3:18, Revelation 22:21
