We had another shouting kind of day at Temple today. I baptized 5, including the mother of some kids that were saved at Bible School. I will tell you a story about her teenage daughter Sabrina below. We also had a teenage boy saved whom we’ve been praying for and working with for some time. Also, tonight one of the parents who came for the baptismal service got a little preachin and had a change in attitude when he got born again! Amen! I couldn’t believe what the Holy Ghost led me to say, “Some off you like to inject drugs in your body and that’s ok if you like destruction, but let me tell you about another kind of injection!” Get my drift? Amen again! A little imputed righteousness! Are you as excited as I am?
Here’s the deal: “Preach the Word!” Stop trying to be culturally relevant, stop telling all the stories, and just preach the Word! Don’t do it in boring way, do it in a Holy Ghost powerful kind of way! Make follow-up visits, be real and loving, be straight with people, and God will build the church!
Sabrina got saved and baptized last week. She started school as a saved person this year! She starting talking to one of her friends about Jesus on the first day… She took her Bible the second day, showed her how to be saved, and then the girl responded and said, “Ok, I’ll get saved at home tonight.” Sabrina said, “Oh No! You don’t know if you will make it home tonight.” The girl bowed her head at School and had her name written down in the lambs book of life!!! Praise Jesus!
I stole this quote from Jeff Turpin’s blog…
“You guys are all into that born again thing, which is great. We do need to be born again, since Jesus said that to a guy named Nicodemus. But if you tell me I have to be born again to enter the Kingdom of God, I can tell you that you have to sell everything you have and give it to the poor, because Jesus said that to a guy too… But I guess that’s why God invented highlighters, so we can highlight the parts we like and ignore the rest.” – Rich Mullins
MY RESPONSE:
I just want to point out one of the reasons the KJV is the best! In relation to the first quote. Ye and you is always plural and thee, thou, and thine, is always singular in the KJV.
Jesus did not say Nicodemus alone must be born again, but “Ye” meaning everyone must be born again.
To the rich young ruler he said, if “thou” be perfect… The man was trying to enter into heaven based on keeping the law so Jesus said ok you are a good moral person, what about God, whose your god? What about the other 4 commandments??? “Thou” means he is not saying everyone must sell everything they have to enter the kingdom of God.
“Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” John 3:7
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. Mt 19:21
Monday and Tuesday I have been dealing with a major problem with an individual in the church-I ask for your prayers.
Wednesday morning I started off the day having breakfast with Roger who hasn’t been to church in 2 weeks as a result of breaking up with his girlfriend who is also a member. Pray for Roger!
When I left breakfast I headed to the church to met Joseph Morton who was going to be measuring our older education building for flooring. We got to talking and I got to preaching and about an hour later he was on his knees in the entrance of the building asking Jesus to forgive him and save him! Amen!!!
In the afternoon I went back to dealing with the problem, although Satan must see that God is going to keep getting the victory. Go God!
In the evening I baptized 4 and have at least 5 others who committed to being baptized on Sunday (unless someone backs out). Some did back out yesterday so please pray for these too! “God knows what He is doing” has always been my moto.

We had good services yesterday! As usual we had new visitors. In the afternoon I met with several of the parents and students who were saved during Bible school. We will start baptizing on Wednesday night! We start hitting the homes of “Boot Camp” soilders this evening!
We are looking for a decent deal on a second van. Last night we started making plans to build a multi-purpose building. We have a good start in our building fund with no debt and we plan on paying cash for the building when we build it! Sacrifice and fundraising begins now!
- The first to arrive get to be in the picture!
- A little B-Ball…
- Me and Mike
- A great group starting on the first night!
- The ones sitting are some of the 30 who were saved this week (Mon-Thur)…
We had 150 in attendance last night!
We had 8 kids trust the Lord!!! A total of 28 so far.
We have had an over all total of 170 in Bible school this week.
I thank the Lord for His goodness!
Tuesday Night Summary-
144 in attendance
20 got saved (several teenagers in that number)!!!
It was on like donkey kong!!!
Need I say more???
I will have more pictures to upload later… We had a total of 124 on our first night of BC! It was fun, everything went smooth, and the kids were excited about the Lord’s Army! We had a lot of new faces and I pray that several will be saved before the week is over!
Does anyone know of a call system that is computerized where you can have a list of people and phone numbers-and at the click of a button the system would call the number and leave a recorded message like, “This is our churches automated system… You were missed yesterday… blah blah blah…” I’m not sure this is such a good idea, but I’m wondering if it exist and is it possible?
While every day should be a Holy Ghost (don’t let that word scare you-it’s in the Bible) day, yesterday we had awesome services! In the morning I preached on the subject of “Preaching” and as always God used the message to change lives!
I Cor. 1:18-21
1.God Chose Preaching
Paul preached
Paul told Timothy to Preach the Word
Jonah cried against the city of Nineveh
2. Preaching Is Pointed (starting with the gospel)
Steven Preached
Phillip Preached
3. Jesus was the greatest preacher that ever lived! Matthew 12
Anyways, that gives you a short summary and idea of the direction I went. I got specific about sin and did not apologize for it! You’ve got to preach on sin-a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump! I’m tried of all the new ideas about preaching! Lay them books down and study the preachers of the Bible!
To conclude the service many were in the altar dealing with their heart condition toward God!
Sunday evening I preached a message to challenge our Bible school workers. Bible school is one way for us to be a witness of the “glorious gospel of Jesus Christ”. This week will be about preparing for the battle we are in, “Boot Camp”. While we are teaching on this subject in reality we will be engaged in the battle. It’s a life or death situation! We must practice this week what we are going to preach. 2 Cor. 4:3-6
